Jason Day withdraws from Arnold Palmer Invitational through injury
Day struggles with back injury yet again.
Jason Day has withdrawn from the Arnold Palmer Invitational after six holes of his first round at Bay Hill through a back injury.
Day, who won the tournament in 2016, was 2-over par through six holes before retiring from the event when hitting his second shot into the par-5 16th.
The Australian had battled an ongoing back injury throughout the 2017/18 PGA Tour season, but had seemingly progressed his way to full fitness in 2019.
We await to hear the full story from the Day camp.
Tiger Woods also withdrew from the tournament but ahead of the first round due to an ongoing neck injury, which Rory McIlroy claimed he sustained two weeks ago at the WGC-Mexico Championship.
