Forgan of St. Andrews is the world’s oldest golf brand established in 1860 and was granted a Royal Seal of Approval when Robert Forgan was appointed official club maker to the Prince of Wales. Conte of Florence, the Italian-based clothing company endorsed by top players Robert Karlsson and Diana Luna, has chosen Petron Golf to be its sole distributor in the UK and Ireland and is set to launch its new Spring/Summer 09 range today. Established in 1952 by Romano Boretti, the current president, Conte of Florence aims to introduce its stylish and elegant clothing through Petron which also represents Kasco golf equipment and Bite shoes.
In a joint statement, Keith Dicker and Dean Stockwell, partners of Petron, said, “We are delighted to have secured the rights to this highly prestigious golf clothing brand. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to step over into the apparel market and a great addition to our portfolio of brands, one we feel is only limited by our own ambition.” Lynx Golf has signed 22-year-old Casper Bruun from Brønderslev Golf Club in Denmark to join its playing staff. A golfer since he was six years old, he won the Danish junior title in 2000 and won the NJCA title in the US in 2006 representing Midland College in Texas.
He currently plays the Black Cat tour irons, and fairway woods and managing director Andrew Walkington has high hopes he will emerge soon of the European Challenge Tour: “This is a very exciting time for Lynx and young players and we look forward to helping Casper reach the top levels of which we know he is capable."
