Donald Trump was widely mocked after the former president claimed he shot a 5-under 67 to win the senior club championship at his New Jersey golf course.
Donald Trump was widely mocked by golf fans after claiming he shot 67 at his New Jersey golf course to win the senior's club championship.
Former president Trump took to his Truth Social platform to outline his beguiling victory at Trump National Bedminster on 27 August.
The very same course hosted a LIV Golf event a few weeks ago which was won by Australia's Cameron Smith.
Trump claims he shot a 5-under 67 - a full eight shots better than Phil Mickelson recorded in the aforementioned event - and there was 'no hanky/lanky'.
The 77-year-old claimed it was impossible for him to cheat because there were many people watching and he was also surrounded by his secret service detail.
"For some reason, I am a good golfer/athlete," he said.

This is just the latest audacious claim about golf from Trump.
In January, he claimed to have won the Senior Club Championship at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.
He didn't even play the first round.
Apparently Trump told the tournament organisers his score from the Thursday - two days before the tournament began - would count as his first round score.
That's how it works, right?!
The latest claim from Trump comes two days after he became the first former president with a mug shot.
