Day ready to improve "horrific" Memorial record
Jason Day seeks revenge at his home track
Sometimes being a member of a golf course has its disadvantages. Just ask Jason Day.
Despite being a member of this week's PGA Tour stop, Muirfield Village, a course the world number one estimates he plays once or twice a week when he's at home, Day has posted a career best tied 27th in eight starts and has only made the cut four times.
"Horrific," said Day, when asked about his record. "It's my home course, so that makes it even worse."
But with his game in red-hot form heading into Jack Nicklaus' Memorial Tournament, the Australian is ready to make home-field advantage pay for once.
"I think this year is more about taking more conservative lines off tees or conservative shots, maybe throttling back a little bit here or there," he added.
"I'm looking to change that this week."
