RUMOUR: Why Brooks Koepka axed Matthew Wolff from his LIV Golf team
Matthew Wolff has left Brooks Koepka's LIV Golf team.
The "clash" of personalities reportedly led to Matthew Wolff departing from Brooks Koepka's LIV Golf team, according to a report.
Wolff enjoyed a meteoric rise at the start of his PGA Tour career but his struggles were quickly evident.
NEW: Brooks "actively recruiting" PGA Tour star and major champion to join Smash GC
He turned pro in 2019 and it wasn't too long until he claimed his first win, holing a 26-foot eagle putt from off the green to defeat Bryson DeChambeau and Collin Morikawa at the 3M Open on the 72nd hole.

Two years of misery followed for the golfer with the unorthodox swing. There was also a spell where he took two months away from the game entirely to focus on his mental health.
So, in many ways, LIV Golf seemed like the perfect fit for Wolff. Playing for someone other than yourself. Smaller fields. No cuts. Wads of cash.
Throughout the inaugural season, Wolff played for Koepka's Smash and Phil Mickelson's HyFlyers.
Smash - comprising of the 2023 PGA Championship winner, Chase Koepka and Jason Kokrak - had a miserable start to their campaign and recorded no points in their first two starts in Mayakoba and Tucson.

Some golf fans took a dim view of the 'news' though.
"No one cares," one wrote.
Another added: "Oh wow. What a huge story. I loved it when NBC ran it and the BBC did it first on their sports news. It's massive everywhere."
