Key member of Rory McIlroy's team: He'll win 10 majors now
Rory McIlroy's putting coach Brad Faxon believes the 2025 Masters champion is likely to double his major count before he retires.
Rory McIlroy's putting coach Brad Faxon believes the Northern Irishman will win 10 major championships before he retires.
McIlroy, 35, finally fulfilled his dream of completing the career grand slam on Sunday at the 2025 Masters Tournament.
The Ulsterman is now in an elite group of only six players to win all four men's majors after he beat Justin Rose in a playoff at Augusta.
Tears flowed uncontrollably as he also ended an 11-year wait since his last major triumph at the 2014 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.
The burning questions now are what is next for Rory McIlroy and how many major championships can he win?
McIlroy's putting coach Faxon has backed the golfer to go on and win at least 10 major championships now he is unburdened.
"He has played professional golf for more than half his life now and there is nothing that can stop this guy,” Faxon told Telegraph Sport.
"Rory can double his number of majors – he can go on to win 10. Something happened from the defeats to build the resilience he has.
"It builds inside what you need to overcome. He is an example to everyone."
He added: "Rory has carried a burden since 2014 to have this goal accomplished and every year, since the first major of the year, it gets harder every year.
"Rory is one of the most intelligent, kind people I have ever met in my life and he knows everything about the history of the game and what this means for the game."
Will Rory McIlroy win all four majors in 2025?
McIlroy will firmly believe he can win another major championship in 2025.
He has two more majors to contest in before heading to his native country in July for The Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
He will undoubtedly fancy his chances when the US PGA Championship heads to Quail Hollow - where has won four times - and is becoming increasingly confident at handling the gruelling test of a U.S. Open.
The U.S. Open will be played at Oakmont this year.
Former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley believes McIlroy will not back off whatsoever.
