Report: LIV Golf pro WDs from PGA Championship (but is still playing in Tulsa?!)
The golfer has not given a reason for his withdrawal.
Martin Kaymer is playing this week at LIV Golf's event in Tulsa, but has withdrawn from the PGA Championship, according to a report by Golf Channel.
Kaymer, along with Jason Dufner, were both in the field for the second major of 2023 at Oak Hill in Rochester, New York, but the golfers have decided they won't be teeing it up.
Dufner has not given a reason for his withdrawal and at the time of writing neither has Kaymer.
Kaymer's absence reduces the field of LIV Golf players at the PGA Championship over May 18-21 to 17, which you can see below:
- Abraham Ancer
- Dean Burmester
- Paul Casey
- Bryson DeChambeau
- Talor Gooch

Kaymer, now 38, captured the first of his two major wins at the 2010 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits by defeating fellow LIV player Bubba Watson in a playoff.
A year later he became the No. 1 ranked player in the world. Kaymer won his second major at the 2014 U.S. Open a year after helping Europe clinch the Ryder Cup at Medinah.
In recent years he has fallen down the world rankings as he has been battling a number of injuries that have forced him to withdraw from LIV Golf events.
Primarily, he's been struggling with issues with his wrist.
Acording to a report by The Daily Telegraph's Jamie Corrigan, Kaymer is anticipated to be the next LIV Golf player to resign from the DP World Tour, following in the footsteps of Henrik Stenson.
In other news, a major DP World Tour sponsor is considering cutting their ties with the European-based circuit after 26 players were fined and suspended by the DP World Tour.
