Ian Poulter gave an insight into his controversial decision to join the LIV Golf League in the Netflix documentary Full Swing.

The episodes were finally released on 15 February and golf fans are already discussing the biggest talking points.

One of those talking points, of course, is LIV Golf and the narrative of who would be joining the breakaway tour.

The third episode is titled Money or Legacy and focuses on Poulter's life behind the scenes before LIV's first event at Centurion Club.

Poulter was filmed having a locker room temper tantrum in a trailer for Full Swing and it was debated whether it was related to the off-course drama.

In fact, that came when Poulter was knocked out of the WGC Match Play on the PGA Tour, meaning he missed out on a spot in the 2022 Masters field.

Poulter ultimately said it was a "business decision" to join LIV Golf but also conceded that missing out on potentially Ryder Cup captaincy would be "devastating".

He also addressed the question that was thrown towards the LIV players: Don't you have enough money?

It's all relative, according to Europe's Postman.

Poulter told Full Swing:

"I'm sure LIV have offers out there to numerous people. The fact of there being guaranteed money at play is obviously an attraction.
"People ask all the time, 'Don't you have enough already?' But that's all relative.
"I treat my golf as a job and I obviously want to maximise every bit of my potential over the coming years and, I mean, I'm 46 years old.
"I'm not getting any younger. There's so many deciding factors in all of this. I love the Ryder Cup and if one day I get the opportunity to be Ryder Cup captain I would absolutely love it.
"If you do play for LIV, would it be a factor in not being able to be a captain down the road?
"It would be devastating if it was taken away. That would be really disappointing."

Poulter's son Luke - also an aspiring golfer - said in the programme that his father was doing what was ultimately best for his family.

In the end, Poulter said it took a long time to finally come to the conclusion he would join LIV.

He added:

"This is the right decision for myself. It's the right decision for my family. I love competing. I love being a professional golfer. It's been my dream since day one and I just want to continue playing great golf all over the world."
