Rory McIlroy's driver numbers from Firestone were outrageous!
It's fair to say Rory McIlroy is loving his new TaylorMade M2 driver and TP5x golf ball combination.
Rory McIlroy spent much of the early season testing different driver and golf ball combinations. It's fair to say he's got it spot on now, certainly where his driving stats are concerned following last week's display at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
Oh yeah, and how's that rib injury now?!
McIlroy, who uses the new TaylorMade M2 driver and TP5x golf ball, unleashed 52 of his 56 drives in Akron further than 300 yards as he cranked up an average driving distance for the week of 328.7 yards.

The Northern Irishman, who finished tied fifth at Firestone, as you can probably imagine, ranked first in driving distance for the week, with Jason Day back in second and some 10 yards further behind McIlroy.
As for accuracy, McIlroy ranked 14th in the 64-man field, finding 55% of the fairways off the tee.
Here's a closer look at some even more impressive McIlroy numbers with his M2 driver in practice. Just look at that carry yardage!
We recently caught up with McIlroy, just hours after he returned from a tie for fourth at the Open Championship, where he explained the transition into playing with his new TaylorMade golf clubs...
McIlroy currently uses a TaylorMade 2017 M2 driver in 8.5 degrees with a Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Silver 70 XTS shaft.
He also uses the brand's new TP5x golf ball, which we put to the test earlier this season...
McIlroy could not get anywhere near the longest drive of the week at Firestone, however, which was set by world number one Dustin Johnson at 439 yards - a drive that was incidentally the longest on the PGA Tour since 2013.
Johnson, who also uses a TaylorMade M1 driver and TP5x golf ball, leads the Tour in driving distance at 313.9 yards.

With this week's US PGA Championship venue Quail Hollow playing close to 7,500 yards, it's easy to see why Jordan Spieth is tipping McIlroy as the "man to beat".
McIlroy has won twice at Quail Hollow on the PGA Tour in 2010 and 2015, and also has two US PGA titles to his name in 2012 and 2014.
