Tour pro's golf clubs and bag totally destroyed (!) by airline: 'That's a Delta Grind'
LPGA Tour pro Jennifer Chang sees her golf bag and golf clubs completely destroyed after travelling with Delta Air Lines.
LPGA Tour pro Jennifer Chang saw her golf clubs and golf bag totally destroyed after travelling with Delta Air Lines ahead of this week's tournament in Florida.
The state of Chang's clubs left Callaway's Tour Content Creator Johnny Wunder in disbelief at how an airline could treat a golf bag so poorly.
But sadly as often proves the case for travelling golf professionals and amateurs in 2024, airlines rarely give much consideration to our expensive and adored golf clubs.
If they ever turn up in oversized luggage that is...
As a result of the heavy damage caused by Delta Air Lines, Chang, who is ranked 407th in the world, has had to get a number of her Callaway clubs replaced ahead of this week's The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican on the LPGA Tour.
A video was posted onto social media by Callaway's Wunder to reveal the extent of damage to Chang's bag, and then reshared by the popular NUCLR Golf account on X / Twitter.
After taking a closer inspection at one of Chang's battered and bruised golf clubs, a 9-iron, Callaway's Wunder said: "That's what they call a Delta grind."
He added: "A little toe face relief, way to go Delta, nice work, looks great, looks amazing."
The video also shows a giant hole in Chang's bag and damage to her Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Driver.

Chang, 25, could very much have done without the headache ahead of this week's tournament as she battles to retain her LPGA Tour card for 2025.
The American currently lies 109th in the LPGA Tour's Race to CME Globe heading into this week's final regular season event.
The top 100 players on the Race to CME Globe at the end of this week will retain their LPGA Tour cards for next season.
This week's tournament also marks the final opportunity for players to crack the top 60 on the Race to CME Globe standings and become eligible for next week's season finale at the $11m CME Group Tour Championship.
Chang therefore needs a huge performance at Pelican GC to not just make next week's event but more importantly maintain her membership on the LPGA Tour.
The winner of The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican will earn $487,500.
Chang first joined the LPGA Tour in 2020.
She has never won on the LPGA Tour but has two top-10 finishes to her name.
Chang has amassed just shy of $650,000 in career earnings during her early LPGA Tour career.
She has made just $110,000 so far this season as a result of picking up just two top-20 finishes.
