Rory McIlroy will join football legend Gareth Bale for the BMW PGA Celebrity Pro-Am at Wentworth on Wednesday.

McIlroy and Bale will also be joined by Match of the Day pundit Jermaine Jenas and Irish businessman JP McManus.

Their group will tee off the 1st tee from 8am on Wednesday.

Other notable groups include Jon Rahm out with Hollywood actor Tom Holland, and Tyrrell Hatton out with former Arsenal and Southampton forward Theo Walcott.

The morning wave of groups will all tee off in a shotgun start at 8am, with the afternoon wave of groups starting at 1.30pm.

The BMW PGA Championship, which starts on Thursday, is the flagship tournament of the DP World Tour season.

All 12 players in the European Ryder Cup team will be competing at Wentworth this week.

You can catch some of the celebrity pro-am action on Sky Sports Golf on Wednesday, and all four days live of the tournament from Thursday.

McIlroy and the rest of the European Ryder Cup team are currently out at Marco Simone in preparation for the Ryder Cup at the end of the month.

Donald's team will be flying back late on Tuesday in order to return for the BMW PGA Celebrity Pro-Am and the start of the BMW PGA on Thursday.

Golf-mad Bale was this week confirmed as a participant in the All-Star Match at the Ryder Cup.

He will be joined on the same team by Novak Djokovic, who won a record 24th grand slam at the weekend.

The All-Star Match will be played at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club – the same course that Europe and the USA will go head-to-head on as they compete for the Ryder Cup, golf’s greatest team event, from 29th September to 1st October.

The All-Star Match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and The Golf Channel in the United States.
