PGA Tour pro who hoped to return now FORCED OUT of US Open Qualifier
Four-time PGA Tour winner Daniel Berger was hoping to return to action at a US Open Qualifier on Monday, but he's been forced to WD.
PGA Tour pro Daniel Berger was all set to return to competitive action for the first time in 12 months at US Open Final Qualifying on Monday, but he has unfortunately been forced to withdraw according to the USGA.
Berger, 30, has been battling a back injury for the best part of three years now.
It sounded as though he was back on the mend last week when he confirmed his participation in Monday's 36-hole qualifier at Pine Tree Golf Club in Florida.
But unfortunately his return to action has been put on hold once more.

Berger has not played in a competitive tournament since missing the cut at last year's US Open.
The four-time PGA Tour winner currently finds himself down at 146th in the world.
He was once 12th in 2021, a year that saw him play in his first US Ryder Cup side.
Berger performed admirably in America's record rout at Whistling Straits that week when taking 2 points from a possible 3.
No official comment has yet been made by Berger following his latest WD from US Open Qualifying.
Berger recently revealed the depths of his struggles to the Associated Press after more than 300 days out of action.
It got to the point where Berger said he would have gladly quit the game to be pain-free.
