Rory McIlroy has won The Masters to become the sixth player in the modern era to capture the career grand slam.
McIlroy, 35, defeated his European Ryder Cup teammate Justin Rose, 44, with a birdie on the first extra hole at famed Augusta National.
The World No.2 surged into a four-shot lead with eight holes to play but he threw that away with a bogey on 11 and double on 13.
Another bogey followed at 14, and incredibly McIlroy had fallen one shot behind Rose at the time.
In a ding-dong battle with the Englishman over the closing holes, McIlroy nosed ahead with birdies on 15 and 17.
But McIlroy then squandered a one-shot lead down the 72nd hole with a bogey and it saw him enter a playoff with Rose.
Both players found the short grass down the first extra hole, the par-4 18th.
Rose stuck his approach shot from 154 yards to 15 feet, but McIlroy took dead aim and stuffed his wedge into four feet.
After Rose missed on the low side, McIlroy stepped in and tucked away the birdie putt to achieve golf immortality.
McIlroy was immediately reduced to tears as he fell to his knees on Georgia's hallowed turf.
He was then hugged by his caddie and best mate Harry Diamond, before being greeted by his wife Erica and daughter Poppy for hugs and kisses.
McIlroy now joins golf legends Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in completing the career grand slam.
The victory marks Mcilroy's fifth career major title and his first since the 2014 U.S. PGA.
It's also McIlroy's third win of the 2025 season.
McIlroy takes home a record first prize of $4.2m for winning the 2025 Masters.

Justin Rose will still believe he can win this.
But not if he continues to make sloppy mistakes.
The Englishman has a few feet for par at the 5th but watches his ball miss low.
He tucks in the returning putt for bogey but will drop back.

Bryson muscles a 7-iron from 222 yards to the left side of the green and will need to navigate an enormous two-putt for a birdie.
What can McIlroy do? Crikey. It's dreadful. He's got a long putt for birdie but will be happy now to escape this hole with a par.

Lowry decided to lay up at the 3rd instead of having a crack at the green and pays the ultimate price after his second flies through the green.
Scheffler is close for birdie but misses!

Bryson finds the fairway with a booming drive at the 2nd and will have a crack at the green.
McIlroy finds the bunker again and will be forced to lay up.

How quickly things can change. McIlroy has made an absolute horror start. What can Bryson do? Get up and down for par, obviously.

2 birdies back to back on the 5th and 6th hole for Max Homa. This tournament will fill him with confidence after missing more than half of the cuts he's played in this year.
That moves him to T6.

A horror start for McIlroy. He finds the fairway bunker on the first and is forced to lay up short.
A 3 putt from 15 feet leaves him with a double bogey on the first hole.
Bryson makes his up and down to par and all of a sudden we now have a tied first place at The Masters.
Roe -7 (3)
Justin Rose uses his spin, and the slope, delightfully on his approach to the 3rd green to leave himself with a straightforward 5 footer to secure a birdie.
He moves to T3.

Ludvig has opened with a birdie to commence his final round.
After a 2nd place finish on his debut, the Swede will be looking to improve in his second ever Masters.
Scheffler -5 (1)
Scottie has teed off for his final round and has made par on the first hole.
Of all the people to come from behind he will be the favourite. He's no stranger to putting seriously low scores in from this position - currently T7.
Rose -6 (1)
Justin Rose shows a glimpse of his first 2 days play as he drops a 10 foot putt from under the hole on the first.
He moves up to T4.
Morikawa -5 (3)
Collin Morikawa makes a second birdie in his final round on the 3rd hole. A great sloping right to left putt from 25ft gets the American firmly into the top 10 at T6.
Rose -5 (1:50)
After a disappointing round 3 75, Justin Rose tees off for his final round alongside former USA Ryder cup captain Zach Johnson.
ZJ had one of the tournament low rounds with a 66 in round 3 and will be looking to keep up the momentum.
A matchup to keep an eye on.
Hovland -1 (2)
A brutal 3 putt from the Valspar Champion as he bogeys the very gettable par 5 2nd.
A sloping right to left putt shaved the left edge and rolled 5 feet past. He then missed the return putt to go back to -1 and to T22 on the leaderboard.
Morikawa -4 (2)
Morikawa makes a cluth up and down from the front bunker guarding the par 5 2nd green.
He moves to -4 and into T10.
Matsuyama -3 (17)
A 7th birdie for the 2021 green jacket winner as he moves to 3 under par for the tournament and 7 under for the day.
Jaeger +7 (12)
4 bogeys and a double bogey for Stephan Jaeger as he shows off the difficulty the fast Sunday greens are displaying.
He sits in last place at 53rd.
Collin Morikawa has just teed off.
His playing partner is Valspar champion Viktor Hovland.

A brilliant approach shot leaving him inches away from the cup left a tap in birdie putt for Daniel Berger.

Jordan Spieth makes an opening birdie on the first hole to move to 2 under par.
That birdie gets him further up the leaderboard to T17.
Niemann -1, Rahm Par (2)
The star-studded group of Niemann and Rahm is off and running.
Niemann has birdied the par-5 2nd to move to 1-under par for the tournament.
Rahm has started with two opening pars.
