Masters hopeful and World No.1 Jon Rahm has revealed a wild new strategy to playing the 10th hole at famed Augusta National given some trees have been lost during Hurricane Helene.

Rahm has good vibes entering this week's first major of the season having slipped on the famous Green Jacket in 2023.

When responding to a reporter's question about the trees that Augusta National has lost since Hurricane Helene in 2024, Rahm revealed he may have found a new strategy for when he makes the turn.

“Somebody told me, I’m not going to say who, that you can hit a high cut over the cabins on 10," said Rahm.

“I don’t believe it… and now that I said it, there might be a tree there tomorrow.”

The 2023 Masters champion may be looking at new ways to win the tournament but like fellow champion Phil Mickelson, he knows the maintenance team at Augusta National is second to none.

Three-time Masters champion Mickelson revealed an incredible story during a LIV Golf press conference last week.

“I was playing a practice round there one year, two weeks prior to the tournament, I’m playing the 11th hole and lining up my tee shot, I see this tree on the left fall over right in the middle of the fairway," said Mickelson.

“It crashed down right by the group in front of us.

“This massive Georgia pine comes down, rips up the fairway and so forth, and by the time I had walked from my tee shot into the fairway, I could hear on the walkie talkie ‘Get off of 2, get to 11, get off of 4, get to 11.’

“And these hundred workers - I mean I don’t know how many - a number of workers were piling in, racing to this tree, firing up the chainsaws, started cutting this thing down.

“So by the time I walk off of the 11th green, all the limbs of the tree have been cut off and put on a truck.

“By the time I got to 15, I looked down they were cutting up the trunk, and the entire tree was being brought away and by the time I got done and get back to the 18th tee and I looked down they’re resodding the fairway.

“Like you couldn’t tell two days late that this had happened, and i just thought like if that was my home course, you know, that tree would still be there like three weeks later.

“They had this thing removed and it was one of the most impressive things I had seen, like their ability to handle stuff like that, so I’m sure the course is going to be in great shape.”

Rahm may have to look for other ways to get around the Georgia pines if the maintenance team have anything to say.
