Controversy! Kevin Kisner steps in at Presidents Cup after 'disgraceful' Tom Kim behaviour
PGA Tour golfer Tom Kim was accused of disrespecting Scottie Scheffler in his match against the World No.1 at the Presidents Cup.
Tom Kim was accused of disrespectful behaviour on the first day of the 2024 Presidents Cup.
Kim was selected by International captain Mike Weir to partner Sungjae Im in the opening fourball matches at Royal Montreal Golf Club in Quebec, Canada.
They were up against World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley.
Kim was fired up from the very beginning of the contest, imploring the crowd to make more and more noise on the first tee.
The first few holes of the match were absorbing, with Scheffler and Kim each making huge birdie putts that injected some life into first morning.
Kim drained a huge birdie putt at the 7th hole and Scheffler immediately answered with a bomb of his own.
He turned to Kim and bellowed: "What was that? Huh?!"

But what transpired on the par-4 8th hole was undoubtedly the biggest talking point of day one.
Kim jarred a 24ft putt for birdie and went absolutely nuts, whipping the crowd into a frenzy.
Scheffler didn't even acknowledge Kim as he retrieved the South Korean's golf ball from the cup.
As Scheffler lined up his birdie attempt to halve the hole, Kim and the aforementioned Im had already marched to the next tee box.
The move is considered not in keeping with etiquette.
And golf fans were furious on X, putting Kim on full blast.
According to on-course commentator John Wood, Team USA assistant captain Kevin Kisner 'had some words' with his International counterpart Camilo Villegas about Kim and Im's decision to walk ahead.
"I'm not sure what was said, but it didn't look all that friendly to be honest with you," Wood said.

Former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley was also less than impressed with what he saw.
"Wow, that is bordering on bad behaviour," he said on Sky Sports."
"That is disrespectful in my opinion.
"I know it's competitive out there, but it shows you an underlying edge here that it's not all fun and games."
