Tiger Woods update made as Hero World Challenge field confirmed
Tiger Woods' Hero World Challenge field has been announced but there's no place for the 15-time major champion right now.
Tiger Woods has announced 17 of the 20 players making up his Hero World Challenge event in Bahamas this December.
Unfortunately for Woods fans there is no place for the 15-time major champion, at least right now.
There are, however, three exemption spots up for grabs and those will be unveiled soon.
The tournament is staged on the PGA Tour but it is not an official counting event on the schedule.
The prize purse for the 2024 Hero World Challenge is $4.5m, and the winner takes home $1m.

Reports suggest Woods will unlikely participate in his annual Hero World Challenge, which takes place at Albany in the Bahamas from 5-8 December.
The good news for PGA Tour fans is that the limited field is pretty stacked.
Runaway World No.1 and FedEx Cup champion Scottie Scheffler headlines the field.
Scheffler is also the defending champion following a three-shot victory last season.
Other star names taking part include Hideki Matsuyama, Patrick Cantlay and Ludvig Aberg.
Here's a look at the full field:

Woods, 48, is currently sidelined from competitive action as he recovers from a sixth career back surgery last month.
The former World No.1 played in all four majors this season but missed the cut in three of them.
Of the one cut he did make at The Masters, he went on to finish dead last of those that made the weekend in solo 60th.
After missing the cut at the 152nd Open at Royal Troon in July, a disgruntled Woods confirmed he would unlikely be playing competitive golf again until the end of the year at the very earliest.
But that was before news emerged of his latest back surgery.
It does seem highly likely that Woods will not participate in a golf tournament again until the PNC Championship alongside his son Charlie Woods just before Christmas.
Woods' new TGL alongside Rory McIlroy then tees off from 7 January 2025.
Shock news emerged this week that neither Woods or McIlroy will play in the first gameweek.
