England Golf Men’s Squad player Tyler Weaver has earned a PGA Tour debut following victory at the Cabo Collegiate in Mexico.

Weaver, 20, captured the title after coming through a three-hole, three-way playoff that now earns him a spot at the 2025 World Wide Technology Championship on the PGA Tour at the Diamante Cabo San Lucas from 6-9 November.

Scores of 69, 66, and 70 saw Weaver enter a three-way play-off alongside Pongsapak Laopakdee and Preston Stout.

Weaver, a Florida State University alum, held his nerve and took victory at the Twin Dolphin Club.

"I’m over the moon with the win this week in one of the best fields in amateur golf," said Weaver.

"The course provided a great test, but I was able to control my ball well and made some good putts at the right time.

"It was a great feeling to win in the play-off and now I’m really looking forward to my first PGA tour start in November."

Englishman Matt Wahl, Assistant Coach of Florida State University, said: "I’m really pleased for Tyler, he’s been working really hard and very diligently on his game and this week validates his progress. He was very patient on a tough golf course and managed his game extremely well.

"He showed some class coming down the stretch and has been rewarded with his first PGA Tour start. This is a great platform for him to build on."

England Men’s Performance Manager Ben Gorvett said: "It’s a fantastic achievement for Tyler and thoroughly deserved. He’s a student of the game; he has made the most of the opportunities he’s had to develop and it is showing dividends.

"The work he’s doing with Rob Watts, and coaches Trev Jones, Matt Wahl and Ryan Heisey, has resulted in the opportunity to tee it up on the world’s biggest stage, the PGA Tour."

Arizona State University defended its title in the team event at the Cabo Collegiate.

Florida State finished third at even par and was without Luke Clanton, the No.1 ranked amateur in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com World Rankings.

Clanton was playing in the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches last week where he went on to earn his PGA Tour via the Tour's Accelerated Program.
