Ludvig Aberg hit one of the most incredible shots in PGA Tour history in the first round at the Valero Texas Open as he drove the green at the par-4 17th only for his Titleist driver head to fly off at the same time!

Aberg, 24, fired a stunning drive down the 299-yard par-4 17th to within 15 feet of the cup.

But it came at a cost as Aberg's driver head flew off into the sky.

It is understood nobody was hurt from the incident and Aberg was able to replace his driver head onto his shaft.

Aberg went on to two-putt for a birdie en route to a solid round of 5-under 67.

The Swede finds himself in contention for the tournament at 6-under par.

"It's bizarre, never seen that happen before," said Aberg after the round.

Aberg will incredibly be making his first major appearance at the 2024 Masters.
