Ludvig Aberg caddie: Who is the PGA Tour star's looper?
Ludvig Aberg's caddie is the highly-experienced Joe Skovron, who used to work with Rickie Fowler and Tom Kim before he linked up with the Swede.
Ludvig Aberg's caddie is the highly experienced Joe Skovron.
Aberg had his good friend Jack Clark carry his sticks when he turned professional in the middle of 2023.
But he made the tough decision to drop Clark a month after he landed his first PGA Tour title at the RSM Classic.
It was clear that Aberg was destined for the very top of the elite men's game and he needed a knowledgeable looper.
Aberg decided to ring Skovron and he managed to convince the American to leave the bag of South Korea's Tom Kim.
Skovron is best known for his association with PGA Tour fan-favourite Rickie Fowler.
Fowler had Skovron on the bag for all five of his PGA Tour victories - including the biggest of his career at TPC Sawgrass in 2015 - but he decided in August 2022 that he wanted to go in a different direction.
When they split, Fowler was reluctant to go into the details but insisted he remains 'like a brother' and there were 'no hard feelings'.
"By no means does this mean we're not gonna rekindle the flame in the future or anything like that," Fowler previously said.
Who is Joe Skovron?
Skovron started out with his friend, Brendan Steele, before Rickie Fowler came calling in 2009.
Steele now plays in the LIV Golf League as one of Phil Mickelson's HyFlyers.
Skovron grew up in the same town as Fowler and had known the golfer since he was four years old.
Together Fowler and Skovron won five times on the PGA Tour and recorded 12 top-10 finishes in majors.
They reached a career-high No.4 in the OWGR.
Remarkably in 2014, Fowler became just the third player alongside Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods to finish in the top-five in all four majors in a calendar year.
But after 13 years, Fowler and Skovron ended their partnership in August 2022.
They remain good friends and Skovron was even Fowler's best man when he married Allison Stokke.
Skovron wasn't without a job for long as he was quickly snapped up by another young star in Tom Kim.
Kim has since switched to Paul Tesori.
They found success, picking up two PGA Tour wins together.
But Aberg managed to snap up Skovron.
How have Ludvig Aberg and Joe Skovron got on so far?
In his first year with the Swede, they got off to a flying start as Aberg finished second to Scottie Scheffler at the 2024 Masters.
It was all the more remarkable given that it was Aberg's first ever major appearance.
Aberg missed cuts in the 2024 Open Championship and US PGA Championship.
But he managed a respectable T12 at the U.S. Open.
The pair began 2025 with a bang, landing the Genesis Invitational.
Aberg picked up the biggest paycheque of his career (a cool $4m).
He is now targeting major championship glory.
