Golf fans react to Scottie Scheffler's outburst: "I'm so in on this!"
World No.1 Scottie Scheffler was filmed getting a little bit hot under the collar during the first round of the PGA Tour's Waste Management Phoenix Open.
World number one Scottie Scheffler was filmed getting a little bit hot under the collar during the first round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
On Thursday, it was another frustrating day on the greens for the PGA Tour superstar.
Scheffler only played six holes before his first round was brought to a close after a weather delay.
But he was losing strokes on the green. Scheffler's outburst came on the fifth green at TPC Scottsdale.
The American was faced with a 12ft, downhill right-to-left slider for birdie and he thought he had made it.
After watching his Titleist ProV1 slide by the hole, he let out an enormous, menacing, monstrous, piercing F-bomb.
Scheffler, who has won the player of the year award for two years in a row, thought that he managed to get away with it by covering his mouth.
But the hot mics caught it.

"I'm so in on this," on X user commented. "Makes Scottie so much more appealing."
Another added: "The best part was how the broadcast team was convinced he was gonna make it."
Scheffler's first round ended with his score at 1-under after playing only six holes. He is the defending champion here.
There should be a caveat
Earlier in the week Scheffler discussed the hot topic of whether LIV Golf players should be allowed to return to the fold if they wish.
Scheffler joined the likes of Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth in suggesting it's complicated.
He explained: "You had some guys that left our tour and then sued our tour. That wasn't really in great taste.
"Then you had some other guys that just left and they wanted to do something different.
"Everybody made their own decision and I have no bad blood towards the guys that left.
"But a path towards coming back, I think it wouldn't be a very popular decision, I think, if they just came back like nothing ever happened."
