Sahith Theegala's girlfriend Juju Julianna 'complained' about not flying home private after the PGA Tour golfer secured the biggest payday of his career.

The swimmer posted a tongue-in-cheek TikTok video on board a commercial flight home after Theegala played his socks off at the season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake.

"When my bf wins $7.5m in FedEx Cup and we don't fly private home," she wrote across the video whilst demonstrating a lack of room.

Theegala made the headlines over the weekend when he called a two-shot penalty on himself in Atlanta.

The golfer was convinced he disturbed his lie in a fairway bunker on his backswing at the third hole whilst he was playing his approach.

He had a thorough conversation with his playing partner Xander Schauffele and a rules official and, after reviewing the footage, it was unclear if he had done so.

His honesty ultimately ended up costing him $2.5m in prize money as had he not been given the penalty he would've tied for third with Collin Morikawa

Theegala and Juju posted a video on TikTok over the weekend where he discussed what transpired from his point of view.

For his part Theegala explained that he just followed his instinct that he had moved a few grains of sand with his club.

"At the end of the day, I've played so much golf," he said.

"You kind of just trust your intuition and gut, and right away I thought I moved some sand there.

"I'm in the 90s per cent that I thought I moved some sand. I'd sleep a lot better if I saw some clear image of me moving the sand.

"I really think I did move the sand. It's just an unfortunate rule. But what are you going to do, take the two shots on the chin and just roll with it."

Theegala is now ranked a career high 11 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

He has qualified for the forthcoming Presidents Cup and looks like he could make his Ryder Cup debut next year for Team USA if he keeps up his form.
