Emiliano Grillo slam-dunk aces (!) par-3 16th at WM Phoenix Open
Argentinian golfer Emiliano Grillo hit a hole-in-one at the famed par-3 16th at TPC Scottsdale during the second round of the WM Phoenix Open.
PGA Tour pro Emiliano Grillo went ballistic at the WM Phoenix Open after hitting a slam-dunk ace on the iconic par-3 16th at TPC Scottsdale.
Grillo was playing his seventh hole of the second round at the PGA Tour's biggest party when he recorded the hole-in-one.
The Argentinian pro, 32, hit a pitching wedge from 155 yards to a pin that was tucked at the back right of the green.
Replays showed his ball slamming against the flagstick and circling the cup several times before settling at the bottom.
Grillo initially did not know what to do but when it finally dawned on him he had become the 12th man in history to make an ace on the hole he went nuts.
The golfer lobbed his wedge in the air before embracing his playing partners Rafael Compos and Seamus Power.

Undoubtedly, the most memorable came in 1997 when a 21-year-old Tiger Woods made an ace using a 9-iron.
Late Australian golf pro Jarrod Lyle hit one in 2011.
Lyle was honoured during the 2019 WM Phoenix Open.
His golf bag, famous hat and the club he used to make a hole-in-one were placed on the tee for the third round.
Grillo's ace comes eight days after Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry made hole-in-ones at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
McIlroy's ace arrived at Spyglass Hill's par-3 15th.
Lowry hit his at Pebble Beach's iconic 7th.
