Callaway Golf burns Rory McIlroy with brutal major jab on social media

Callaway Golf has burned Rory McIlroy with a brutal major jab on X / Twitter following a recent Bob Does Sports video. 

Robby Berger, frontman for Bob Does Sports, revealed on Wednesday that he "completely botched" his first ever interaction with McIlroy while at the gas station.

As McIlroy was getting fuel, Robby went up to the four-time major champion and asked him if he would fancy joining him on the Bob Does Sports YouTube channel sometime soon.

Bob Does Sports has just shy of 1m subscribers on YouTube.

The channel has attracted a number of big-name PGA Tour players recently, none more so than World No.2 and Callaway Golf staff player Xander Schauffele.

But despite being one of the most successful golf YouTube channels out there right now, McIlroy replied saying he had never heard of the channel.

If that wasn't tough enough for Robby to take, his final words to McIlroy probably ended any future chance of him appearing on Bob Does Sports. 

"Thanks for all you do for YouTube," Robby said to McIlroy before quickly turning red.

"I'm such a f****** idiot," Robby said of his interaction with McIlroy at the gas station.

Off the back of that video, Callaway Golf, who sponsors Robby, took aim at McIlroy, who is sponsored by the brand's big rival TaylorMade. 

Callaway wanted it to be known - tongue-in-cheek - that Bob has won two more majors than McIlroy over the last 10 years. 

For those none the wiser, Robby has won two Bob Does Sports majors. 

McIlroy has won four career majors but his last major victory dates back to August 2014 at the US PGA.
