Alex Noren has been forced to withdraw from the first PGA Tour event of 2025.

The official communications team confirmed on Thursday morning that the Swede has suffered a neck injury on the eve of The Sentry.

Noren, 42, was due to play the first two rounds of the no-cut event at Kapalua alongside Matthieu Pavon and Kevin Yu.

He has not been replaced in the field and therefore Pavon and Yu will play as a two-ball.

The Sentry is the first of eight signature events of 2025. It will now have 58 players competing for the $3.6m top prize.

Two-time major winner Xander Schauffele highlights the field after World No.1 Scottie Scheffler withdrew.

The runaway World No.1's season will begin in a few weeks at The American Express following surgery on his right hand.

Scheffler suffered a puncture wound to his palm whilst he was serving Christmas dinner to his family.

Viktor Hovland was also a major doubt this week after he fractured the pinky toe on his right foot.

Hovland passed out in his hotel room in Hawaii after travelling for more than 24 hours to the Plantation Course from Norway.

When he woke up, he realised he had fallen asleep fully clothed.

He then stubbed his foot on a bed-frame when he was getting undressed.

Tee times for The Sentry have been listed at the bottom of this page.

Other notable absentees from this tournament include Shane Lowry, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Tom Kim, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler.
