Scottie Scheffler reveals his caddie is not feeling well at The Open Championship
World No.1 Scottie Scheffler carded a second consecutive round of 70 and then confirmed his caddie Ted Scott has a case of food poisoning at Royal Troon.
Scottie Scheffler has confirmed his caddie Ted Scott is not feeling very well during this week's 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.
Scheffler, 28, bogeyed the par-4 18th for a second consecutive round of 1-under 70.
It leaves the runaway World No.1 in a tie for fourth on 2-under par.
That is just five shots behind 2019 Open champion Shane Lowry, who carded a 69.

Scheffler is seeking a seventh victory of the season and a third major title in South Ayrshire.
During the second round, his caddie Scott was seen lying down at various stages of the front nine.
After the round, Scheffler revealed his trusty bagman had a case of food poisoning on Thursday night.
He was at least able to confirm Scott was feeling a little better than he was at the start of the round.
Scheffler said of Scott's condition right now:
"Yeah, he had a bit of food poisoning last night -- well, could have been food poisoning, could be some sort of stomach bug. But he seemed to feel better as the day went on. The doc here took good care of him. But he did not sleep very much last night apparently.
"We didn't know if he was going to be able to go this morning, but he fought it out. You saw him laying down probably quite a bit out there, which was pretty funny.
"But it's just one of those deals, you're used to him being in one position, standing there by the bag, and then all of a sudden on No. 9 today he was literally sitting on the 10th tee for like 10 minutes while we were putting out over there. I didn't even see him, which was a bit unusual.
"He's a fighter. He did a good job today and battled through it."
In 15 starts on the PGA Tour this season, Scheffler has won six times and 13 times finished in the top 10.
Scheffler has amassed $27,696,858 as of June 2024 in PGA Tour earnings.
He has also smashed what many deemed an 'unbreakable' OWGR record set by Woods in 2000.
Scheffler's caddie Scott has earned a huge $2.63m as of June 2024.
That is a record amount for any caddie in PGA Tour history, even when Steve Williams was raking in millions for caddying for Woods in his prime.
Scott would incredibly rank 46th and one spot behind reigning FedEx Cup champion Viktor Hovland if his name was placed on the current 2024 PGA Tour season earnings list.
That puts Scott ahead of a number of PGA Tour stars including former FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel and major champions Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott.
