A large number of golf fans - and even LIV Golf star Lee Westwood and Sky Sports Golf commentator Ewen Murray - have hit out at LPGA pro A Lim Kim for using AimPoint Express on a tiny one-foot putt during the third round of the Honda LPGA Thailand.

It happened when Kim, 29, slid a 10-footer for birdie just past the hole to kick-in distance.

The three-time LPGA winner then proceeded to perform her AimPoint Express putting routine over the one-foot par save.

You could argue one foot is being generous.

What is AimPoint Express?

AimPoint Express is a green-reading system designed to help golfers accurately predict break and improve putting consistency.

Developed by Mark Sweeney, it simplifies the process by using finger placement to determine the correct aim point.

Golfers assess slope using their feet, assign a slope value (1-5), and then use their fingers at arm’s length to find the ideal target.

AimPoint Express putting has most certainly grown in popularlity in recent years, especially with a number of players on the PGA Tour.

The likes of Adam Scott, Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, Tom Kim and Keegan Bradley are just seven big-name PGA Tour stars who consistently use AimPoint on the greens in 2025.

But while AimPoint might be growing in popularity with a number of Tour players in 2025, the putting method is irking a large number of golf fans on social media.

Critics of AimPoint consider it is a big contributor to slow play, one of the hottest topics in our game right now - and especially when it's being used on a putt that could easily just be tapped in with a minimum of fuss.

Even if thousands of dollars are on the line.

Case and point below with A Lim Kim using AimPoint on a one-foot putt.

Sky Sports Golf lead commentator Ewen Murray then tweeted: 'Dear dear!'
