Best LPGA players of all time: To celebrate International Women’s Day, GolfMagic lists what we consider to be the best 10 female golfers of all time.

Since its inception in 1950, the LPGA has featured countless golf icons.
But who makes the top 10?
To celebrate International Women’s Day, GolfMagic is taking a look back at the incredible legacy of the best LPGA players of all time.
While LPGA superstars of today such as Nelly Korda, Charley Hull and Lydia Ko have not cracked our top 10 just yet, many players such as them can owe their careers to the pioneers and icons listed below.

Kathy Whitworth
Kathy Whitworth won a record 88 LPGA tournaments and remarkably finished runner-up 93 times, giving her 181 top-two finishes. She won six major titles and was the first American captain for the inaugural Solheim Cup in 1990. She was a seven-time player of the year on the LPGA and a World Golf Hall of Famer. A true icon of ladies golf and a player who always be celebrated as one of the best of all time.
Patty Berg
Patty Berg was one of the founding members of the LPGA and she holds the record for the most major championship wins with 15. She also won 60 times on the LPGA, ranking her fourth in the all-time winners list. Berg was a pioneer for the LPGA and helped revolutionise women’s golf.
Mickey Wright
Mickey Wright is one of the greatest female golfers of all time. She won 82 times on the LPGA (second all time) and 13 majors. Wright holds the record for the most wins in a single season with 13. If that was not enough she is also widely regarded to have one of the greatest swings in the game. An absolute legend of the sport.

Annika Sörenstam
Sweden's Annika Sorenstam dominated the LPGA in the mid-90s and early-00s. Sörenstam won 72 LPGA tournaments, as well as 24 other international tournaments, meaning she holds the most professional wins to her name. She won 10 majors and in 2003 became the first woman since Babe Zaharias to play in a PGA Tour event. Europe's best ever female golfer by some considerable margin.
Louise Suggs
Louise Suggs is widely regarded as one of the greatest female golfers of all time due to her remarkable achievements on the LPGA Tour. With 11 major championships and 61 LPGA titles, Suggs was a dominant force in women's golf during her career. She was one of the LPGA's founding members in 1950, helping to establish the tour as a major platform for women in sports. Suggs' versatility and competitive spirit led her to victories across various courses, cementing her legacy as a trailblazer in the sport. Her success and contributions continue to inspire generations of golfers.
Babe Zaharias
Babe Zaharias had won two gold medals and a silver in track and field at the 1932 Summer Olympics before becoming a professional golfer. She proved that she not only excelled in track and field but golf too. She won 41 times on the LPGA including 10 majors, and in 1950 she completed a Career Grand Slam for the time.

Nancy Lopez
Nancy Lopez was considered the best player in the world in the late 70s and early 80s. Lopez won 48 times on Tour, which included three Women’s PGA Championships. The American is the only player to win all three LPGA Tour Awards - Player of the Year, Vare Trophy and Rookie of the Year in 1978. She also captained the U.S. to victory in the 2005 Solheim Cup.
Juli Inkster
The longevity of Juli Inkster’s illustrious career makes her one of the best to ever play the game. She won 31 times on the LPGA including seven majors, and 23 years separated her first win (1983) and her last (2006). Inkster also has more wins in Solheim Cup matches than any other American. She is the only LPGA golfer to win two majors in a decade for three consecutive decades - three in the 1980s, two in the 1990s and two in the 2000s.
Karrie Webb
Karrie Webb has 41 LPGA titles to her name including seven majors, making her one of the most successful female golfers of all time. Webb achieved the Career Grand Slam by winning all four major championships, a feat only a few golfers have accomplished. She was also the youngest ever inductee into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2005. Webb has also been instrumental in mentoring young Australian golfers. Her legacy extends beyond trophies as she continues to support women's golf through her Karrie Webb Scholarship. Webb is one of the finest golfers Australia has produced.
Dame Laura Davies
The highest points scorer in Solheim Cup history (25), England's Dame Laura Davies was one of the very best golfers on the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour. Her 20 LPGA wins including four majors, together with her 45 wins on the Ladies European Tour (the most all-time) showcase her dominance in the sport. Davies is without question the most successful ladies golfer to come from the United Kingdom. Davies now works as a commentator for Sky Sports Golf.
