LIV Golf's Sergio Garcia pays his respects on social media after learning severe flood flooding has killed nearly 100 people close to his hometown in Spain.
LIV Golf League star Sergio Garcia admits he is 'heartbroken' to learn a number of people have been killed by severe flash flooding near his hometown in Spain.
Heavy rain caused widespread flooding across eastern Spain on Tuesday 30 October.
Reports claim the Valencia region was hit with up to 12 inches of rain in just a few hours.
It marks the region's worst rainfall in 28 years.
The resultant flash flooding has seen rivers break their banks, cars pile up in the streets and homes completely wrecked.
As it stands, at least 95 people have died from the flash floods as emergency responders continue with their search to find dozens of missing people.
Garcia, 44, took to X / Twitter to share a Marca post of the horrifying update.
The flash floods took place very close to Garcia's hometown of Borriol, Castellon.
The Spaniard posted: 'Heartbreaking news so close to my hometown. Praying for everyone.'
Latest reports have confirmed 92 people lost their lives in Valencia and Castellon provinces.
One of those people was reportedly a 71-year-old British man who died from hypothermia.
Two others have died in Castille-La-Mancha and another person in Andalusia.
