Martin Kaymer has confirmed a highly-rated Danish talent has signed a LIV Golf contract.

Per bunkered, the German has convinced 24-year-old Frederik Kjettrup to join the Cleeks.

It is understood the golfer has signed a multi-year contract with the breakaway tour.

An official announcement is expected later today (Friday).

Kjettrup, a graduate of the University of Florida, is currently ranked 241st in the Official World Golf Ranking.

He turned professional earlier in the year after finishing eighth in the 2023 PGA Tour University Ranking.

Kjettrup already already has three PGA Tour Americas victories.

He made his major championship debut at the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No.2 having made it through final qualifying.

Kjettrup was in the field for PGA Tour Q-School, which concluded earlier in the month, but withdrew at the last minute.

Another player, Yubin Zang, was also in the field and also pulled out. He has since joined Kevin Na's Iron Heads outfit.

The news means Kaymer's Cleeks now has a full roster.

They had one vacant spot on their team after Kalle Samooja was relegated.

Samooja tried to earn his DP World Tour card at Q-School and also tried to earn his spot back on the Saudi-backed league via their Promotions event last week but came up short on both occasions.

Kaymer's other teammates are Richard Bland, 52, and 30-year-old Adrian Meronk.

Explaining the decision to sign Kjettrup, Kaymer told bunkered: "We didn't know the person behind the golf player.

"We spoke a couple times on the phone and got to know each other and got some insight into where he would like to be in a few years.

"We got along really well. It felt right. Then we proposed his name to the league and we got very positive feedback.

"I talked to his manager and to him and here we go."

Kaymer said he made it clear to the golfer that despite a thawing of tensions in the world of men's professional golf, the pathway to qualifying for major championships is still a huge stumbling block.

The former European Ryder Cup star told the publication he reckons by 2025 things could be different in that respect.

He added: "What I've heard from the league is that it looks pretty good. Hopefully next year we have some kind of way of qualifying for majors.

"We cannot say for sure this will happen. But he was fine with that.

"The situation right now, some players play on the PGA Tour, some play on the LIV tour. For him, LIV was very attractive.

"He enjoys watching it, he sees a future in it and he wants to be part of it. He likes being part of a team.

"LIV made a lot of sense to him."
