Patrick Reed makes outrageous claim ahead of LIV Golf Greenbrier
Former Masters champion Patrick Reed believes "golf is boring, slow and long".
Patrick Reed believes the sport is "boring, slow and long" and that LIV Golf has come along to inject some life into it.
Reed, 34, made his feelings be known ahead of this week's 12th LIV Golf event of the season at Greenbrier.
The 4Aces GC star considers the breakaway Saudi golf league has proven an "outstanding" success since its inauguration in 2022.
This week's tournament will mark 100 rounds on LIV Golf.

Reed, who won The Masters in 2018, considers LIV Golf has breathed new life into the sport with a "faster" paced feel.
He considers it has been achieved with LIV's shotgun start, limited fields and 54 holes.
There is a slightly different vibe during tournament play compared to PGA Tour and DP World Tour events too, with regular big beats being pumped around each of their venues.
Reed said ahead of LIV Golf Greenbrier:
"I think the biggest thing was when we first started, obviously we knew the plan.
"We knew what LIV was trying to do and what the mould and what we were going to do, and for it to come around so quickly and how successful it's been so fast is absolutely outstanding. I've loved every minute of it.
"I can't wait to continue playing and for a lot more rounds than 100 and get hopefully to 1000 soon and just watch it continue to grow and change the game of golf and show a faster and more fun side of golf, not just the old traditions.
"Things need to evolve. Things need to change. I feel like that's what LIV is. They've stepped into a world that was all about tradition only and have changed the face of golf for the better, and I feel like with LIV, we're now allowed to touch a lot broader and better way of golf.
"Golf is boring, slow, long, and we've now brought in the fast and more entertaining part of life."
Reed has had a mixed bag of results so far this season with just three top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments on LIV Golf.
He has had two top-fives in the last four events though.
Reed played in two of the four majors in 2024.
He finished T12 at The Masters in April and then added a T53 at the US PGA in May.
Bryson DeChambeau echoed the sentiments of Reed ahead of his title defence at LIV Golf Greenbrier.
The Crushers GC captain believes the LIV Golf League 'will explode' in popularity sooner rather than later.
Bubba Watson was also in agreement.
Watson compared himself to Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as he reflected on how LIV have 'changed the face of golf'.
