Bryson DeChambeau makes latest declaration: "I just see this thing exploding here shortly"

Bryson DeChambeau has declared the LIV Golf League 'will explode soon' as he reflected on his time with the breakaway tour.

Bryson DeChambeau says he believes the LIV Golf League 'will explode' in popularity sooner rather than later.

DeChambeau made the claim in a news conference alongside Bubba Watson and Patrick Reed ahead of the breakaway tour's event this week at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.

The tournament will see the 100th competitive round in LIV Golf history.

DeChambeau was among the first wave of players to join the Saudi-backed tour for an astronomical sum of money in 2022 and, while he did not know exactly where LIV would be after 100 rounds, he expected a lot of progress.

"When I was having conversations back in 2022 and whatnot with where this was going to go, I expected there to be a lot of progress, but the progress has been amazingly awesome," DeChambeau told reporters on Wednesday at The Old White.

"From everything that we've done, everything that each team has individually done, the players, what they've done to make this league what it is now today is quite impressive.

"As I look at a five-year vision, 10-year vision, I just see this thing exploding here shortly.

"When people start to see the true value that we're bringing, that intrinsic value is only going to exponentiate over the course of time, which is what I'm excited for.

"I'm waiting for that kind of domino effect, for it to start falling in that cool direction that we see here on our side at LIV, especially with the team aspect."

DeChambeau's LIV peer Watson was also in agreement.

Watson compared himself to Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as he reflected on how LIV have 'changed the face of golf'.

"We will see a 56 soon"

The time last year, DeChambeau recorded a final round of 58 as he claimed his maiden LIV victory.

DeChambeau made 13 birdies but did not make an eagle.

He could've gone lower, in theory.

DeChambeau was asked if we might ever see someone shoot lower in the future.

He reckons someone will shoot 57, maybe even a 56.

"We're just too good now," DeChambeau said of Tour pros.

"There's going to be a time where everything kind of lines up."

He added: "With Joaquín [Niemann] shooting 59 this year, you're just starting to see it more and more.

"I believe there will be a 57 at some point, even a 56 potentially.

"I think a 57 has been potentially shot on other tours before, but it's going to just get more consistent over the course of time.

"We're just too good now, and it's fun. When you're in that mindset and you've got that, oh, we're going low and making everything, these guys know, it's why we do it. It's why we play golf."
