LIV Golf star hits back at criticism for snubbing a career on PGA Tour
Rising LIV Golf star Caleb Surratt hits back at his critics after snubbing the PGA Tour.
Jon Rahm's new LIV Golf signing Caleb Surratt has hit back at critics who have questioned his decision to bypass a career on the PGA Tour.
Surratt, 19, turned pro to join Legion XIII, the team captained by Jon Rahm who joined the league for a reported $600m.
The team also includes Rahm's European Ryder Cup partner Tyrrell Hatton and Kieran Vincent.
Speaking on LIV Golf's Fairway to Heaven podcast, Surratt said:
Surratt is confident he made the right decision to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League, adding:
Surratt discussed how the incredible recent win of Nick Dunlap, the first amateur to secure a victory on the PGA Tour in 33 years, is such a rarity and how that it encouraged him to take every chance he got in 2024.

19 year old American, Caleb Surratt has made a great start to pro life by finishing T13 and T12 in the first 2 LIV events. He’s had criticism about his decision to join the league and he addressed that on the “Fairway to Heaven” podcast:

Surratt said: "There’s no guarantees in life, so I was just super blessed and thankful for the opportunity.
"At some point golf is a job - it’s what we’ve all wanted to do, to be a professional golfer, and there’s zero limitations to that."
It cannot be denied Surratt is surrounded by some of the best players on LIV Golf in 2024.
Surratt's captain is a former World No.1 and two-time major champion after all.
Hatton, who hilariously helped Surratt check-in to a Las Vegas hotel, has also won six times on the European Tour and once on the PGA Tour.
Surratt has performed admirably thus far on LIV Golf with a T-12 and T-13 in his first two events, helping Legion XIII clinch team honours at Mayakoba earlier this month.
The next LIV Golf event is in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 1-3 March, and Surratt will be looking to continue his steady rise in the game.
