Eugenio Chacarra says he has no plans to quit the LIV Golf League

Sergio Garcia's Fireballs teammate was rumoured to be unhappy with life on the breakaway tour.

The Spaniard, 24, opted to join the Saudi-backed league when he turned professional two years ago.

A highly-touted PGA Tour prospect, Chacarra claimed his first ever victory in Bangkok in October 2022.

He was lured to the circuit by the 2017 Masters champion, whom he regards as one of his heroes.

But No Laying Up's Tron Carter has claimed he's heard from several sources that he has had enough.

Chacarra's 2024 campaign saw mixed results, with the golfer finishing 39th out of 54-man league.

The Fireballs, comprising of Chacarra, Garcia, David Puig and Abraham Ancer, also finished sixth in the team standings.

"'I'm told Chacarra is not happy and he wants out," Carter said.

"But the kid that won the U.S. Am wants in badly, so he'll probably be on LIV's fireballs."

Carter was referring to Jose Luis Ballester, 21, who triumphed at Hazeltine in August.

But Chacarra has moved swiftly to deny the report, telling @FlushingIt he didn't know where it came from.

He plans to play LIV Golf in 2025, he said, although he finished in the 'Open Zone' and is therefore currently a free agent.

It means that he is free to discuss terms with another team if he chooses.

Chacarra will be making his DP World Tour debut at this week's Spanish Open in Madrid, headlined by Jon Rahm

"It's not true," he said of the claim. "I've just landed in Spain and have no idea where that's come from.

"I'm all good after just finishing the season. I didn't get relegated, so am eligible for LIV next year and that's what I plan to do."

LIV will likely go on another recruitment drive over the coming months.

GolfMagic has already explored who LIV will be targeting over the next few months.

Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau, Viktor Hovland, Hideki Matsuyama, Wyndham Clark and Jason Day could be on their radar.

Cameron Smith confirms LIV Golf plans for 2025

Five players were relegated from LIV this season.

Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson was among them, but he is likely to be back with the RangeGoats next year.

Kalle Samooja, the Vincent brothers, and Branden Grace also got booted out.

It remains to be seen which golfers will be targeted in the coming months before LIV's 2025 season kicks off next February in Riyadh.

LIV commissioner Greg Norman has admired multiple PGA Tour winner Jason Day for several years.

Day distanced himself from a switch to LIV 12 months ago, but didn't rule out a switch entirely.

And Day would most certainly fit the bill and slot nicely into Smith's Ripper team.

But Smith has confirmed the team won't be changed after they won the Team Championship in Dallas over the weekend.

He told reporters: "It's been a very frustrating year [personally], but from a team standpoint, I couldn't have wished for anything more," Smith told reporters.

"You're always digging deep for these guys, genuinely, and it's a pretty cool feeling to have, not having that before, and I can't wait for next year.
