LIV Golf pro receives mixed reaction at news conference with strip club comments

Only the most ardent golf fan might be familiar with the name Danny Lee. 

He won the U.S. Amateur in 2008 at the age of 18 and has since plied his trade primarily on the old European Tour and PGA Tour. 

Lee, 33, made the move to LIV Golf in February 2023 and is part of Kevin Na's Iron Heads contingent. 

On only his second start, he won the breakaway tour's event in Tucson by prevailing in a four-man playoff. 

Ahead of LIV Golf Las Vegas, Lee spoke to a small group of reporters to promote the three-day event in Sin City. 

This week he has the opportunity to sleep in his own bed given he moved to Nevada two years ago. He had previously lived in Dallas, Texas. 

His team captain, Na, also resides in the area. 

"I got sick of Dallas, and I wanted a new start, so I came to Vegas," Lee said. "And I'm loving it. Strip clubs."

Pressed for any recommendations for anyone visiting Las Vegas this week, Lee's reply was also entirely predictable. 

Lee offered: "Strip clubs?"

His direct response sparked a mixed reaction on X, with one user commenting: "Well, at least he's honest."

Another added: "An honest answer is nice. But can someone whisper in Danny's ear and tell him that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, even if you do live there."
