A leaked image of LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman looking rather bored to say the least during a LIV Golf Japan presentation for 2026 has gone viral on social media.

The post was shared on X / Twitter by popular golf account Flushing It

Norman was meeting Japan Golf Tour chairman Yutaka Morohoshi to discuss plans for a future LIV Golf Japan event.

After zooming in on the leaked image, it would appear the Saudi-bankrolled league is looking to break new ground in Japan for 2026.

On the presentation slide in the picture, it says: 'LIV Golf Japan, opportunity to launch LIV Golf in Japan starting in 2026, either as a regular season event or season ending LIV Golf Team Championship'.

The update comes after LIV Golf confirmed two new events on its schedule for 2025, one of which includes a first trip to South Korea.

The news of a first event in Japan will likely start to raise more rumours the league will try to persuade former Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama to make a switch to LIV Golf before 2026.

Norman has made it no secret in the past that Matsuyama is very much a man on their radar.

It is understood Matsuyama last year turned down in the region of $400m to move from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf.

LIV Golf instead turned their attentions to Jon Rahm and the former World No.1 accepted a reported $600m fee.

Flushing It tweeted:

LIV Golf looks likely to be heading to Japan in 2026. There was rumours it could happen as early as this year, but CEO Greg Norman was in the region over the last few days to launch LIV Golf Korea in 2025 and meet with the Japan Golf Tour Chairman with plans for next season. Details are yet to be official, but it could potentially host the season ending Team Championship, which would be the first time it’s been hosted outside of the US. LIV’s global schedule continues to grow with their presence in Asia getting stronger all the time. In addition to this, I expect they will be looking to add some high profile players from this region during the off season. Particularly with the Ironheads, who lost Scott Vincent to relegation a few weeks ago.

A large number of golf fans could not help but comment on the reaction of Norman in the leaked social media photo.

Perhaps it was a long meeting - we all know how those feel - but Norman looked incredibly disinterested to say the least.

Here's a look at some comments by golf fans on X / Twitter:

Greg looked thrilled

Everyone looks excited to be there

How's the meeting going, Greg?!

The Shark looks so bored!

Norman did thankfully share some much happier photos of himself with Japan Golf Tour chairman Morohoshi on his Instagram page.

Check out the images below:

Norman wrote of his meeting with Morohoshi:

The podium of world golf =  Playing, designing golf courses and promoting the game globally has been and is an honour - now I’m grateful to be working in expanding LIV Golf League into the podium of golf. And to think 22 of top 50 woman golfers are from Japan and South Korea!! Thank you Japan Golf Tour chairman Morohoshi san (a friend from 30+ years).
