Madelene Sagstrom unfortunately struck a camera operator in the head on the 18th hole in the second round of the Scandinavian Mixed, a co-sanctioned DP World Tour and Ladies European Tour event.

Sagstrom 31, hacked her third shot out of the deep rough down the left flank of the par-4 18th at Vasatorps Golfklubb.

To her credit, the one-time LPGA Tour winner did shout 'FORE!' as her ball travelled towards the cameraman some 80 yards away in the left rough.

Unfortunately though, her ball clattered into the man's head and rebounded into the middle of the fairway.

Sagstrom was understandably shaken by what had just happened and she then went long with her fourth shot.

It all led to a costly triple-bogey seven on the final hole for Sagstrom, who went on to miss the cut by three shots.

A par would have seen her make the cut.

DP World Tour pro Joost Luiten informed GolfMagic the camera operator was immediately taken into hospital.

Sky Sports Golf's Tony Johnstone and Jamie Spence have both confirmed to us the man is okay, albeit has a very sore head and he remains in A&E.

At the top of the leaderboard, Sagstrom's Swedish compatriot Sebastian Soderberg is out in front on 15-under par and he will take a three-shot lead into the weekend.

Home favourite Sodeberg, 33, has been playing some terrific golf of late and he entered this week off the back of three top-three finishes in his last four DP World Tour events.

Soderberg is going in search of a second DP World Tour.

Scotland's Scott Jamieson is three shots back in solo second, with Julien Guerrier a further shot back in third.

Past champion Linn Grant, who made history at this tournament two years ago as the first female winner of a DP World Tour event, shares fourth place.

A total of 42 DP World Tour members and 26 Ladies European Tour members made the cut in the innovative event, which sees 78 men and 78 women go head to head on the same course for one prize fund and one trophy.
