Hands up. Who else had Sky Sports on at work? Thought so. The first-ever Ryder Cup to finish on the Monday caused chaos in the workplace and saw the NHS run out of sick notes.
The Americans fought gallantly in the singles, but it just wasn’t enough as Graeme McDowell buried a crucial putt on the 16th in his match against Hunter Mahan.
Several minutes and a scuffed Mahan chip later, it was high-fives all round and back to work.
