Golf legend Sir Nick Faldo blasts Bryson DeChambeau claim: "That's BS!"
Multiple major champion Sir Nick Faldo has blasted the suggestion he's not a fan of Bryson DeChambeau despite questioning his strategy at The Masters.
Sir Nick Faldo says it's 'b-------' to suggest he doesn't like Bryson DeChambeau despite his harsh criticism of the LIV Golf recruit's strategy during the 2025 Masters.
DeChambeau once again got himself into contention to win the green jacket at Augusta National.
But despite briefly taking the lead during the final round of the first men's major of the year, the 31-year-old's challenge faded.
DeChambeau was never able to recover from finding the water at the 11th hole and a tussle emerged between Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Patrick Reed and Ludvig Aberg.
McIlroy finally landed his maiden Masters title and completed the career grand slam.
He touched down in Northern Ireland yesterday with his daughter Poppy to celebrate the win with his parents Rosie and Gerry.
Faldo has made no secret of his admiration for McIlroy given he has known the Northern Irishman since he was a teenager.
But some golf fans on social media felt as though Faldo, 67, was being critical of DeChambeau simply because of his ties to LIV.
Since the PIF-backed league's inception in 2022, Faldo has routinely blasted the LIV players.
Before the 2025 Masters, Faldo described LIV players as 'soft' and 'lucky' that they are able to 'waltz around for 54 holes' for vast sums of money.
"Sport is bloody tough," he said.
"The fear of failure is just as powerful as the quest to win. And I think when you're on a fail-free tour, you can't fail.
"It makes you go soft. I think some of those players have gone soft."
But Faldo has insisted he has no issue with DeChambeau - he just questions his strategy.
"That's b-------," Faldo told The Times of London when asked about DeChambeau.
"I like the guy. I texted him after he won the U.S. Open. I don't like the way he plays at times, which I'm allowed to criticise.
"He said he was going to attack [Royal] Troon last year [at The Open]. You don't attack a links, you thread it down there.
"I'm not sure about his strategy, but he is great entertainment. I'm a fan."
Sir Nick Faldo ranks Rory McIlroy as fifth best player of all-time
McIlroy's victory at Augusta meant that he became only the sixth man in history to win all four majors.
Faldo, who won six majors but never completed the slam, reckons McIlroy is now above Gene Sarazen in the history books.
"He's won 29 times in America," he told the paper. "Of the all-time greats, I'd put him fifth. Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack [Nicklaus] and Tiger [Woods]. Rory is right there.
"No discredit to Gene Sarazen, but that was a completely different era. I've hardly seen any footage of him, but achieving the grand slam puts you in a different category."
