WATCH: Adam Hadwin is TACKLED by security guard at RBC Canadian Open
Adam Hadwin's celebration of Nick Taylor was cut abruptly short last night.
Adam Hadwin's attempt at celebrating Nick Taylor's historic RBC Canadian Open win was cut abruptly short on Sunday.
The final round of this year's RBC Canadian Open went to extra holes after both Taylor and Tommy Fleetwood finished at 17-under par.
On the line for Fleetwood was his long-awaited first PGA Tour win, while for Taylor it was a chance to become a national hero.
That's because it had been 69 years since the last time a Canadian won the national tournament. It was last done by Pat Fletcher at Point Grey Golf and Country Club in Vancouver all the way back in 1954.
On Sunday evening, plenty of Canadian fans cheered Taylor on at Oakdale Golf and Country Club in Toronto as he and Fleetwood went through extra hole after extra hole.
Finally, on the fourth playoff hole - the par-5 18th - Taylor holed an incredible 72-foot putt for eagle to cement himself as a Canadian golf icon.

What followed was a flurry of inside-the-ropes personnel flooding the green as the Canadian win-less drought had finally been broken.
Among those to rush the green was fellow Abbotsford, B.C. golfer Hadwin, who had been nervously watching Taylor from the side of the green with fellow Canadians Corey Conners and Mike Weir.
But as Hadwin tried to shower his good friend with champagne, his celebrations were abruptly stopped when a security guard mistook him for a fan invading the course.
What followed was a textbook tackle that could probably earn him a tryout in the CFL.

Ouch.
Thankfully, Hadwin's wife, Jessica, informed concerned fans on Twitter that her husband was "still among the land of the living" and in true Canadian style, he had apologized to the security guard!
Sorry to leave y’all hanging, had to get the toddler ready for bed. I’m thrilled to report that @ahadwingolf is still among the land of the living and in true Canadian form, apologized to the security guard for being tackled.

Hadwin had his own fun with the moment later, tweeting out a screenshot with the caption: "Put it in the Louvre!"
