Tiger Woods decided to take a break from his new role on the PGA Tour's policy board to visit his hellish new golf course in the Utah mountains.

It was confirmed in February the 15-time major champion was embarking on his latest project with his design firm TGR.

The 18-hole course, dubbed the Marcella Club, is to be built on a new alpine ski resort in Park City.

Early designs indicated that Woods wanted the course, a par-72, to measure a ridiculous 8,000 yards from the back tees.

There is a par-5, the 10th, which could be stretched to 700 yards. Elsewhere, there is a par-3 that will be a mammoth 292 yards from the tips.

Each and every par-5 will measure more than 600 yards.

At the time, Woods said:

"I couldn't be more excited to be partnering with Marcella Club to design and create a new championship golf course just outside Park City
"Utah is an incredible place, with favourable year-round weather that offers opportunities to be active outdoors throughout all four seasons—golfing, skiing, biking, hiking, and fishing—the list goes on and on.
"I'm thrilled to be designing a course in such a special location; this new course is uniquely beautiful and will offer engaging play for every ability."

Engaging play for every ability? Okay then, Tiger.

Construction appears to have now started judging from the latest video released this week.

Woods appears to be walking relatively freely. He is yet to announce if and when he will play competitive pro golf again after his latest ankle surgery following the 87th Masters.

A video surfaced earlier in August showing the big cat making some swings alongside his teenage son Charlie Woods, prompting speculation that there could indeed be one last hurrah from the living legend.

This is of course not the first golf course that Woods has designed. Among Woods' courses include Bluejack National, Payne's Valley and the El Cardonal Diamante in Mexico.

The latter has replaced the Mayakoba as a PGA Tour destination after LIV Golf pinched it for their 2023 schedule.
