The PGA Tour posted a throwback video of Tiger Woods annihilating Stephen Ames in their match at the 2006 WGC Match Play.

Ames made some comments about Woods prior to their match and whether or not he was trying to get inside the head of the now 15-time major winner is unknown, but all it did was fire Woods up to deliver a serious beating.

"Anything can happen, especially where he's hitting the ball," said Ames in 2006, suggesting that Woods had been poor off the tee in the build up to their match.

Well Ames learned that day that you should never pick a fight with a Tiger, as his words caused Woods to bring out the most dominant performance the WGC Match Play has ever seen, beating him 9&8 to set a record for the largest victory margin.

Woods made extremely light work of Ames that day, needing just 10 holes to get the job done and cause a rather embarrassed Ames to eat his words.

"Was there some kind of inspiration other than you love match play and head-to-head golf?" Woods was asked after his emphatic victory.

"Oh yeah, there certainly was," replied Woods. "Stephen provided it. So yeah, definitely.

"I think he understands now."

Geoff Ogilvy went on to win the WGC Match Play that year, defeating Davis Love III 3&2 in the final.
