John Deere Classic prize money: How much they all won
All the prize money and payout info for the John Deere Classic this week on the PGA Tour.
The swing of tournaments on the PGA Tour schedule between the US Open and the Open Championship continued this week with the annual John Deere Classic.
The tournament, regularly played at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, doesn't typically draw the biggest stars due to its poor location on the schedule.
The event comes just a few weeks after the 123rd US Open in Los Angeles, and just one week before the PGA Tour heads to Scotland for their co-sanctioned event with the DP World Tour, the Genesis Scottish Open.
Still, an exciting finish was delivered on Sunday as Sepp Straka appeared to be set for a sub-60 round before being forced to settle for a 62 due to a double-bogey 6 at the last.
Straka's low scoring round was still enough to clinch his second PGA Tour title however, two strokes ahead of Brendon Todd.
Cameron Young was also among those who made the trip to Illinois this week, finishing tied for sixth. He was top-ranked player in the field at No. 19.
Another notable name was US Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson, who was born a just a few hours away from the course over in Iowa. He finished tied for 35th.
Ludvig Aberg, the 23-year-old Swede who finished first on the PGA Tour University standings, was making his fourth professional PGA Tour start this week. He made his fourth-straight cut with a tie for fourth.
This week's purse is $7.4m with $1.33m going to Straka.
