GolfMagic Fantasy 2023: play our free PGA Tour game and WIN big Callaway prizes!

Fancy winning yourself some incredible golfing prizes this season? Well you will most definitely want to get involved with our brand new FREE GolfMagic Fantasy game in association with Callaway, which tees off at The Masters this week. 

GolfMagic Fantasy will comprise of 20 PGA Tour events, starting at The Masters (April 6-9) running through to the Tour Championship (August 24-27). 

To play, all you need to do is register to GolfMagic Fantasy, which is absolutely free, and then pick a team of five golfers with one captain pick for each of the 20 tournaments.

Our GolfMagic Reader with the most amount of points at the end of the season will win a full custom fit through the bag fitting with Callaway at a Callaway Fitting Centre. 

We will also have amazing weekly prizes up for grabs, the first of which includes a major themed Callaway Tour Bag for our Week 1 winner, and a special edition Callaway Paradym Driver for our winner in Week 2. There will be plenty of other epic prizes on the way, too. 

Okay, here's all the information you need in order to play GolfMagic Fantasy in association with Callaway:

Registration and Login

To start playing our new game, you need to register to GolfMagic Fantasy. Registering is completely free of charge and only one registration is required to play. Once registered you will be able to login with your credentials.

Managing your acount details

To update or change your registration, login and click on the My Account button located in the top right of the main menu. In your account settings you can update your personal details. You can also change your Team Name and update your email preferences or simply cancel your registration.

Team selection

You must pick a team of five golfers for each tournament in the PGA Tour season. There are no player values or salary cap for selections, however you must respect the pots criteria, better explained in the next section. Golfers who are not in the field will not be available for selection. 

Each week your team will be wiped, so you must pick a fresh team ahead of each tournament. This is to ensure that you have five active golfers in your team each week to maximize your scoring potential. 

You will be able to pick a new team at approximately midday on Monday (BST).

Deadline

You have up until the first scheduled Round 1 tee time to pick your team or make edits to your team. If you do not submit a team by this time, you will be automatically assigned five players. No team edits are permitted after this deadline.

Player pots

Your five players will be chosen from four pots:  

• Pot 1 will be golfers ranked 1-10 (OWGR) 
• Pot 2 will be golfers ranked 11-25 (OWGR) 
• Pot 3 will be golfers ranked 26-50 (OWGR) 
• Pot 4 for will be all remaining golfers (OWGR) 

Selection restrictions are as follows: 

• You can only pick a maximum of 2 players from pot 1
• You can only pick a maximum of 3 players from pots 1 and 2 combined 
• You can only pick a maximum of 4 players from pots 1, 2 and 3 combined
• You can only pick a maximum of 5 players from pots 1, 2, 3 and 4 combined

Captain functionality

You need to pick one captain for each tournament while selecting the team prior lockout time. You cannot save your team without having a captain in place.

Your captain scores x2 points. 

You can change your captain pick only once during the tournament, between daily rounds. This can only be done after the day’s play is complete and before the next day’s play commences.

When you change your captain, from that point onwards the past captain stops earning x2 points, and the new captain starts earning x2 points. The x2 points earned for the new captain will be earned only from that round onward. Past round points will stay as x1. 

Scoring mechanics

The core scoring system will see golfers score points based on their finishing position at the end of the tournament. There will be an additional daily scoring system whereby golfers score points based on their finishing position at the end of each round (first three rounds).

The scoring for the final round (finishing position) will be different than the scoring for the first three rounds (daily scoring).

Leaderboard

All teams will be automatically added to an overall and weekly leaderboard, which will show the points and ranking of all teams.
