The Open Championship 2023 field: Who is playing at Royal Liverpool?

Attention now turns to Royal Liverpool for the 151st Open Championship. 

The final field was confirmed by the R&A on 14 July. 

Rory McIlroy leads the list of star names who will be competing at Hoylake. Cameron Smith is the defending champion. 

Four-time major winner McIlroy is aiming to break his nine-year major drought.

We are sure you know by now the last time McIlroy won an Open Championship was in 2014 at this very same course.
