Phil Mickelson weighs in on GolfMagic debate about black socks worn in golf
Lefty decided to respond to one of GolfMagic's Instagram posts and it prompted interesting responses...
Phil Mickelson decided to partake in debate on GolfMagic's Instagram last weekend.
The debate itself was about whether black socks should be permitted on the golf course.
Lefty, who crowned himself as the PGA Tour's controversial player impact program winner by breaking the news, had one word: 'Yes'.
Mickelson, 51, whether you like him or not, never holds back with his opinions when it comes to the game we all love.
The debate has come to light as a result of a golfer no longer being welcome at his club after not adhering to club rules about attire - click on the below link for more.

He has been an outspoken critic of golf's governing bodies trying to curtail the lengths of drivers.
That new model local rule will come into play starting from this month.
Mickelson will tee it up at the Sentry Tournament of Champions this week in Kapalua on the PGA Tour.
But back to the debate. Personally speaking, I could care less what you wear on a golf course providing you look fairly smart.
Black socks with white shoes may be a peculiar fashion choice but each to their own.
The hoodie debate has raged on but hopefully 2022 is the year the issue is finally put to bed and people embrace it.
There were some interesting comments on our Facebook page, so we decided to pick out the best.

"I choose pace of play over sock discrimination."
"Who cares, surely it's more important to get people playing."
"I had no idea they couldn't what a stupid rule."
"I think on the one hand you should be allowed to play in whatever you feel comfortable with and on the other hand you should respect the dress code for the club you are at."
"I wear them. It isn't an issue. I see people wearing jeans. I know which I'd prefer and it's not the latter."
"I have never understood why some golf clubs insist on white socks."
"I think golf needs to move with the times and stop worrying about snotty dress codes. We're there to play golf, not have a fashion parade. The only line should be sport team shirts."
"More people are worried about sock colour than slow play and cheating."
"The fact that it's even debated is exactly what is wrong with golf."
"Golf pro shops are selling black socks. Golf brands make black socks."
