JACK NICKLAUS, 46 - 1986 MASTERS
Quite possibly the most famous of all of golf's majors, simply for the fact Jack Nicklaus locked up a record 18th and final major title.
Nicklaus started the final round four strokes off the pace but brought the house down on Sunday when closing with a 65 for a narrow one-stroke victory on 9-under.
The American has a record six Masters titles. Woods has the opportunity to pull within one jacket of Nicklaus with victory at Augusta this week.
Nicklaus isn't the oldest winner of a major, however. That title belongs to Julius Boros who won the 1968 US PGA Championship aged 48.
