Golf club in Midlands CLOSES DOWN following COVID-19 lockdown
Another UK golf club closes down as company goes into liquidation during the coronavirus pandemic...
A golf club in the Midlands has been forced to close down due to its company going into liquidation following the coronavirus lockdown.
Patshull Park Hotel, Golf & Country Club, located in Wolverhampton becomes the second known golf club in the United Kingdom to close down in recent weeks.
The news follows that of Magnolia Park Hotel & Golf Club in Oxford, which confirmed it is closing for good as a result of redevelopment.
According to the Express & Star, "the hotel, golf and country club between Bridgnorth and Wolverhampton closed down in March when the country went into lockdown and it has now been revealed it will not be opening again."
Liquidators have now been called in to handle the case and have confirmed the lakeside resort in Pattingham has now shut down for good.
"Directors have commended to place the company into liquidation," said a spokesman for Past Business Recovery, the company dealing with the case.
"Unfortunately the business is ceasing to trade and all staff have been made redundant as of July 9.
"Further documentation has been issued to creditors and we will be writing to creditors and employees in due course."
Located 10 minutes from Junction 3 of the M54, Patshull Park was a beautiful par-72 parkland golf course that was designed by the legendary John Jacobs.
The course featured lots of mature trees and kept golfers on their guard with several testing water hazards.
It was a course that suited and welcomed every ability of golfer.
