Furyk plans trip to Golf National with Ryder Cup hopefuls ahead of Open
Ryder Cup 2018: visit to Golf National will not be compulsory.
US skipper Jim Furyk will take potential 2018 Ryder Cup players to Golf National ahead of the Open as the US search for victory in the biennial clash for the first time since 1993.
A team is hoping to visit the layout on the outskirts of Paris in the weekend before the Open at Carnoustie.
The trip will not be compulsory, and there must be fears a repeat of Tom Watson’s experience when he invited players to Gleneagles, only for two players to turn up. One of them was Furyk.
