Wilson Staff Tour truck on the road

Look out for it at Golf Live 2011

Wilson Staff Tour truck on the road

The new Wilson Golf Tour truck will make one of its first UK appearances (just ahead of Wentworth's BMW PGA Championship) at Golf Live 2011 from May 20-22 at The London Club, where golf fans will be able to test and be fitted for the latest Wilson DXi woods and Di11 irons.

The huge 18-ton Mercedes six wheeler, with its red, grey and white livery is nearly twice the size of the previous model at over 11 metres long and houses all the latest club-making technology and custom-fit facilities needed to support Wilson Staff's players led by three-time Major champion Padraig Harrington.

Other Wilson Staff players such as former Open champion Paul Lawrie, Englishmen Steve Webster and Anthony Wall, plus Sweden’s Fredrik Ohlsson and two-time Challenge Tour winner Andreas Hartø from Denmark will be taking full advantage of Tour manager Phil Bonham's presence on the truck around Europe.

Wilson Golf, which enjoyed a significant market share increase in sales of Wilson Staff irons across Europe last year, says the truck will also attend France and Germany demo events designed to highlight the benefits of custom-fitting. A meeting and relaxation suite  and a plasma screen that can be fitted outside, are among the hi-tech equipment on board.

Other Tour destinations it will include the Dunhill Links tournament in Scotland, The Open Championship at Royal St. George’s, events in Denmark, Holland, Finland, Sweden, Portugal and Ireland and a 15-day tour of top venues in Scandinavia.

“This investment in a new and larger truck demonstrates the commitment of Wilson Golf to the European Tour and maintaining the highest levels of service to our increasing number of talented players,” said Doug Wright, Business Director of Wilson Golf in Europe.
