TaylorMade has released its Tour Preferred EF Wedges, featuring the company's most detailed grooves ever.

TaylorMade says the wedge allows the player to impart high spin rates because of a “proprietary electroformed nickel cobalt face”.

Nickel cobalt is 50% harder than carbon steel, aiding durability, but the company says the wedge retains a soft feel.

“The Tour Preferred EF wedge is the perfect blend of craftsmanship and innovation,” said Clay Long, TaylorMade’s director of product creation, putters and wedges - and the wedge's designer.

“Electroforming delivers a consistent high-performance groove pattern that delivers incredible spin over the course of thousands of shots. To have our Tour players put them into play immediately after seeing them for the first time is a true testament to their performance.”

Tour stars Sergio Garcia and Dustin Johnson both play TaylorMade Tour Preferred EF wedges.
